Rosebud Health Foundation's annual golf fundraiser another huge success

The Rosebud Health Foundation held its 7th Annual Charity Golf Fundraiser under sunny skies at the Collicutt Siding Golf Course in Crossfield on August 22. The event was again a glowing example of the community support and the importance placed by the greater community to make sure our local health facility remains a state of the art facility. The event raised approximately $19,000 which is earmarked to purchase a Wander-Guard system for Acute Care, in order to prevent patients from leaving the facility unnoticed.

I would like to let the world know how much we, as a board, appreciate this support and how happy the caregivers are to be able to provide first class service to their patients with the funds of that community support.

Four companies responded to the tournament with a platinum sponsorship; six companies responded with a gold sponsorship and ten companies responded with a silver sponsorship. In addition 62 companies and individuals responded with prizes, cash, and or in kind donations. In total 106 golfers joined us for the afternoon with Chris Epp, born and raised in our area, now reporter and news anchor with CTV Calgary, filling the spot of Honorary Chair of the Tournament.

A group of volunteers rounded out the workforce. A marvellous banquet of chicken and ribs catered by Barb Melnichuk and her staff replaced the energy lost on the course.

It should also be noted here that Vern Good is the legal adviser for the Foundation. He has provided all his services free of charge since the charter of the Foundation. There is no question that our Hospital and the caregivers that manage it, enjoy a high degree of community support.
